Recommended Walks in the Walnut Creek Open Space

We have compiled some interpretative guides to walks in the open space with notes and pictures of things to see on those walks - plants, animals, and the geology of the area. In addition, we have general guides on each open space area. These guides contain small photos of plants and animals and links to more detailed information.

Trails guides are available for these walks:

Shell Ridge Open Space

        Fossil Hill Walk

Sugarloaf - Shell Ridge Trail (Young's Valley Road to Borges Ranch)

Lime Ridge Open Space - no info yet

Acalanes Ridge Open Space

Camino Verde Circle to Sousa Lane

Sugarloaf Open Space

Bridle Lane to Young's Valley Rd.

You can find additional information on Walnut Creek's Open Space at the City of Walnut Creek's web site.
