Native Plant Propagation at Heather Farm Park - Wells Fargo

Volunteers from Wells Fargo Bank did a variety of work with us on September 12, 2007. They started 5000 containers of native grass and wildflower seed, gathered up sheets of solarizing plastic and collected acorns.   This Week of  Caring work day was invaluable to our project.

getting up solarizing plastic
This summer, we solarized the coming winter's planting area by covering it with sheets of clear plastic.  Wells Fargo volunteers gathered up the plastic and carried it to a dumpster.
gathering acorns
Oak trees in the park produced an abundant acorn crop this year.  Wells fargo volunteers gathered enough for this winter's planting.
