Lime Ridge Fire 7/10/2003

There was an unplanned fire in the protected native species protected area of Lime Ridge Open Space on July 10, 2003. Fire protection agencies from Contra Costa, Marin, and Santa Clara Counties as well as the California Department of Forestry responded immediately. Because of their timely efforts, the fire was contained and the prospect is good for a restoration of native chaparral in the area after winter rains this year. The temperature reached 97F that day.
